Saturday Academy Math and English Teachers, Grades 6-8
Summary: Saturday Academy teachers develop and implement student-centered, interactive math or English curriculum that culminates in group projects and presentations. Sample courses include, Voting Counts: Election 2008, Harlem’s Inconvenient Truth, and Extra, Extra! Though math and English will be taught separately, collaboration between instructors will be necessary in order to help students make connections across the curricula. The ideal candidates will be able to utilize progressive didactic, coaching and discussion instruction models to teach content area using creative and innovative methods.
